I finished knitting this dress for Emma. It's the Smocked Frock from Little Turtle Knits, and I love it. Apparently she does too because she was WAY upset when she had to take it off. It fits her perfectly. This is especially exciting for me, because it seems like everything I knit is either a tad too big or a tad too small.

So I've recently decided that I want to get some chickens. We wouldn't be able to have them here, but maybe at our next house. Steve is not as excited as me ("We got you some worms, we are NOT getting chickens!") but I think he'll come around. In the meantime, I have to learn all I can about chicken ownership.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. That dress is beautiful, and so is your little girl.

I like the idea of chickens. There are already so many people around here selling eggs from their backyard chickens that I've decided to hold off. I'm hoping that the spring migration and possibility of bird flu (in birds not humans) doesn't unnecessarily hamper bird shipping this year.

Sarah, Stan and JoAnn Wilmes in Kay's subdivision raise chickens, so maybe you could have some now since your backyard is so deep. Maybe they would scare away the snakes!
We are looking forward to seeing darling Emma in her awesome new dress in a couple of days.

I want chickens too! But alas JoCo doesn't so it won't come to be. However, I have read about having chickens. Here are some links:

You know, I commented on this, but I have yet to see my comment. I assume blogger ate it. Anyway, I said something along the lines of that dress is ADORABLE (so's the kid wearing it). You are inspiring me, I am adding that to my "list of things I want to knit as my skills improve and as I get more time in the day"
