Yesterday Emma and I enjoyed more yummy asparagus from the garden. Take a look at those beauties! Today I'm planting more spinach and more potatoes.

Yesterday was a good day for me, snake-wise. At one point I walked outside and there was a snake sitting right there, looking at me. I stopped short, but then I gathered my wits and pointed him out to Emma. We ended up following him (from a small distance, of course) as he slithered slowly across our whole yard. I tried to make it a learning experience for Emma and not let her know that the icky thing gave me the heebie-jeebies. As we were watching him, I started to feel a little more brave. Maybe next time I see one, it won't be so tramautic. And, when Steve got home from the store, Emma ran to him and exclaimed, "Snake eat bugs!"

I'm feeling somewhat overwhelmed because I'm leaving town next week to go to my parents' house for Easter, and I have SO much to do before then. This morning I wrote out a to-do list for each day until I leave, and that helped a lot. It's amazing how lists make me feel more productive, when I really haven't accomplished anything at all!

Lastly, here is a picture of Emma at the Royals game the other day. We had great front row seats, given to us by one of Steve's co-workers, so we didn't even care that this Royals season is shaping up to be even worse than the last two. Well, okay maybe we did.

Snakes are scary.

You are braver than I could be. Hmm, maybe I should have made you not be scared of snakes! But I don't think you were afraid when you were a little girl.
