Friday night we got home from dinner to find this in our yard.

Our neighbor's car. Or, more accurately, what remains of our neighbor's car. While we were gone, some woman - who I think had to have been drunk - came barreling down the road and crashed into our neighbor's car, which was parked on the street. She pushed the car about 100 feet, then she backed up her own car, and drove away! Who does that? Our neighbor jumped in their other car and followed her. Less than a mile away, she stopped to check out her car, which was apparently smoking pretty badly. Our neighbor got out and said that his wife had called the cops, so the lady jumped back in her car and took off again! Crazy. I don't know if they found her.

I liked the crayon roll I did the other night, so I decided to make one for Emma. I didn't look at the pattern again because I was pretty sure I remembered everything. That turned out to have been a mistake because my memory seems to have been about an inch off.

This was also my first attempt at using rickrack, and I guess I need more practice with that.

Steve and I are having some Scrabble issues. I won't say who has won two of three this weekend (although I will tell you that it wasn't Steve), but I will say that our fourth game was cut short this morning. He keeps trying to use words that technically could be words, but that have never actually been spoken by anyone in the history of the world. Last night he got mad because I wouldn't let him use "hellier". This morning he tried to use "reforks" and when I gave him the deny, he said he wasn't going to play anymore. Fine. He stormed off to work, even though he originally wasn't going in today. I guess all the losing is getting to him. If anyone has any thoughts on whether or not "reforks" is a legitimate word, I'd be interested in hearing them.

There is no way "reforks" is a word

This sounds like a fight between me and David. Once I tried using "rentyo" because someone could really say it sometime, like, "Give me your rentyo..." but he didn't take it.

Maybe, since you and Steve are having these issues, you should sit down and make the rules clear before playing another game.

That's crazy about your neighbor's car!

"Reforks" isn't in the Scrabble dictionary. You should get one -- it helps cut down on the Scrabble arguments. :) In our case, it CAUSES arguments because we don't let my husband's sister use the dictionary during play to find words.

According to the scrabble dictionary, "reforks" is not a word - http://www.scrabulous.com/scrabble_dictionary.php

Yikes on the squished car in your yard!

Yeah, we looked in the Scrabble dictionary and on dictionary.com as well. Of course, it wasn't listed in either one. Really, I can't believe he even thought he had a case.

The crayon holder is really cute. Where can I find the directions to make one?

Oh and I made the s'mores cupcakes for my DH's birthday, and they were wonderful. Thanks for sharing them! :-)

You can Google "crayon roll" and it's the first one that comes up. It's a site called Skip to My Lou.

I have no sympathy for your Scrabble squabbles, because I have nobody to play Scrabble with me. LOL.
I tagged you in my blog.

Jamie called me the other night and told me that there was a wrecked car in your front yard and I didn't believe him! I was scared for a moment because he told me it was a white car, but I was happy to hear that it wasn't your white car. Very strange.

Congratulations on your scrabble wins. The scrabble dictionary is useful and if it helps any, I don't consider "reforks" a valid word.

Whoever planned the layout of this subdivision was crazy. We just had to go through that roundabout, and it looks like the road reforks up ahead.

Because she failed at her first attempt to snare the peas, Sarah hungrily reforks them.
